February 3, 1932 – October 27, 2014

The City of Blue Mound would like to honor Mr. Boyles and offer our deepest condolences to the Boyles family.

Mr. Boyles was a great pillar of our community for many years. He was the oldest living original home owner in the City of Blue Mound. He served in the US Armed Forces from 1949 – 1953. He returned home and married Martha "Kelley" Boyles on September 7, 1953. He has been a Charter Member of the Lions Club since 1972 when the Lions Club was first founded. He served on the Blue Mound City Council from 1973 – 1998 and continued his service to Blue Mound as the Mayor from 1999 – 2002. He had many visions and dreams for the community in which he worked to help bring those dreams into fruition. He was there to help set the very first swing set in the city park, as well as taking part in the purchase of the very first fire truck. Mr. Boyles is survived by his wife Martha Boyles, his daughter Linda Boyles, His two sons James Boyles, III and Kelley Boyles, as well as 9 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. He was loved by many and will be truly missed.
